Birmingham, Mich. — Robert B. Aikens, chairman and founder of Birmingham-based Robert B. Aikens & Associates LLC, passed away on March 2 at the age of 86.
Aikens formed Robert B. Aikens & Associates LLC in 1973 after spending 15 years as senior partner of the law firm Wunsch, Aikens & Lungershausen. Aikens’ development portfolio is comprised of regional shopping centers, main-street lifestyle centers, community centers, commercial office buildings and resort communities.
Aikens was involved in a number of philanthropic enterprises including the Committee of Visitors of the University of Michigan Law School, The Brady Advisory Council of Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Trustees of Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Aikens also served as the Stewardship Chairman at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
