Metuchen, N.J. and Hewlett, N.Y. — Regency Centers Corp. has acquired two retail centers located in New Jersey and New York.

In Metuchen, Regency acquired The District a Metuchen, a 66,000-square-foot, Whole Foods Market-anchored center. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed. Whole Foods Market, which opened last October, houses Comida Fresca, a Mexican restaurant. In addition, The District at Metuchen is home to European Wax, Title Boxing and Chipotle Mexican Grill. In Hewlett, Regency acquired two adjacent properties — a 33,000-square-foot, Petco anchored center and a 20,000-square-foot, Duane Reade-anchored center. The properties were separately operated, but acted as a single center. Regency will operate the two as a single center known as Hewlett Crossing. The seller and sales price were not disclosed.
