Price Brothers to Launch Next Phase of $750 Million Mixed-Use Project in Kansas

The next phase of Bluhawk in Overland Park, Kansas, will deliver a 120,000-square-foot civic and community center/arena, a 300,000-square-foot indoor multi-sport complex, 70,000 square feet of new restaurant and retail space and a 99-room hotel. Overland Park, Kan. — Price Brothers has unveiled plans for the next phase of Bluhawk, a $750 million, 277-acre mixed-use project in Overland Park.

The $205 million Project Area 1 will deliver a 120,000-square-foot civic and community center/arena, a 300,000-square-foot indoor multi-sport complex, 70,000 square feet of new restaurant and retail space and a 99-room hotel. The development is already home to a 122,500-square-foot, grocery-anchored center. Sports venue operator Sport Stable will operate the amateur sport complex. The interest in bringing an amateur hockey team to the area drove the team to develop the arena and sport complex first, according to developers. Project Area 2 will include the 40,000-square-foot Cosmosphere Innovation Space, an immersive STEM exploration experience; 316,000 square feet of outlet retail and restaurants; a 100-room hotel and a 150-room hotel above the retail space; 80,000 square feet of office space; and an 800-space parking structure. Bluhawk starting going vertical in 2015, with the construction of single-family home sites. A construction timeline for the project’s remaining phases was not disclosed.
