Chapel Hill, N.C. — University Mall will be renamed University Place beginning in 2015, and will receive a new logo and new consumer advertising campaign.

Madison Marquette has finished its renovation and rebranding of the 350,000-square-foot University Mall in Chapel Hill, which will coincide with the opening of Silverspot Cinema in 2015. Silverspot Cinema took over 53,000 square feet of anchor space vacated by Dillards. The Madison Marquette leasing team then executed 67,500 square feet of inline specialty shops and sought-after retailers. As part of Madison Marquette’s renovation of the 41-year-old University Mall, which began in 2013, University Mall will be renamed University Place beginning in 2015, and will receive a new logo and new consumer advertising campaign. Aveda Institute and Planet Fitness will open in the first quarter of 2015, as well as several small specialty shops, prominent boutiques and local restaurants. University Mall’s other anchor is gourmet retailer Southern Season, the first in the Carolinas. Tacos & Tequila, a restaurant serving contemporary Mexican cuisine, will join the restaurant line-up in the first quarter of 2015.
