Myrtle Beach, S.C. and New Bern, N.C. — Crosland East has plans to develop two Publix-anchored centers, Village Shops at Grand Dunes and River Place Shopping Center, in Myrtle Beach and New Bern at a cost of $38 million.

The 12.2-acre parcel for Village Shops at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach was purchased from LStar Management and will include a 45,000-square-foot Publix, and three buildings totaling 24,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well as three outparcels. The 8.2-acre assemblage of eight separate tracts for River Place Shopping Center in New Bern was purchased from an undisclosed seller, and will include a 49,098-square-foot Publix and 16,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Austin Williams and Brad McGinnis of Crosland worked on both transactions, and Chris Taft of Crosland will oversee commercial leasing for the projects. Both centers are set to open in 2016.
