CBL Announces Mixed-Use Redevelopment for Hamilton Place Mall to Replace Sears

by Randy Shearin

Chattanooga, Tenn. — CBL Properties is planning to redevelop a Sears building at its Hamilton Place mall in Chattanooga into a mixed-use project.

CBL will add a Dave & Buster’s and a national specialty retail junior anchor, as well as an approximately 145-room boutique-style hotel, Class A office space, and restaurants and specialty tenants at a site presently occupied by Sears. Sears is set to close its location at Hamilton Place by the end of the year.

“These new offerings, coupled with the addition of The Cheesecake Factory, which is opening in December, will further solidify Hamilton Place as the premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the Chattanooga market,” says Stephen Lebovitz, chief executive officer of CBL Properties.

Lebovitz also says Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ, Alter’d State and Molly Green have been added in the past few months to bring in customers and strengthen the property.

Construction of the mixed-use portion of the center will begin in early 2019.
