Leopardo Completes Center, Begins Second Project

GatewayNEWSGateway to the West LoopChicago  —  Leopardo Cos. Inc. has completed the 190,000-square-foot Gateway to the West Loop and has started working on the 240,000-square-foot Ravenswood Station in Chicago. The properties, which are anchored by Mariano's Fresh Market, have a combined construction cost of $77 million.

Gateway to the West Loop includes additional tenants ULTA Beauty, GNC, Massage Envy and Supercuts. The property features a multi-story atrium and a 157-space above-ground parking garage. Gateway to the West Loop is seeking LEED Silver certification through its green roofing system that reduces noise, conserves water and decreases stormwater runoff.

The $43 million Ravenswood Station will include tenants LA Fitness and Sears Auto Parts. The property is also seeking LEED Silver certification with sustainable features such as electric car charging stations and permeable paving. The development will open in January 2014.

Leopardo is the general contractor for the project, while Antunovich Associates is the architect. The developers include Seymore Taxman, Timothy Barrett and Gene Porto.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
