| The Sembler Company Announces Management Changes |
|
Gregory S. Sembler will fill the title of board chair, which was previously held by his father, the company's founder, Mel Sembler, who was the United States Ambassador to Italy from 2001 to 2005 and to Australia and Nauru from 1989 to 1993. Wheeler said Sembler continues its growth focusing on several key areas, including developing power centers, grocery-anchored centers, build-to-suit, and serving as third party consultants, which the 50-year-old company has been doing for the past 25 years. Leasing is underway at Atlanta's TOWN/Brookhaven, and tenants in place include CineBistro, There Bar plus several other retailers and restaurants including the upcoming Olde Blind Dog Irish pub. Other recent power centers are the Oakleaf Town Center in Jacksonville, and Boynton Town Center in Boynton Beach, Fla. The company recently acquired a piece of land in Largo, Fla., for a McDonald's and a bank. "We also recently acquired a Publix-anchored center in Comus, Fla.," Wheeler said. "We are redeveloping that entire center, tearing down and building a new Publix store there. It's an exciting deal for us and for Publix."
